The forthcoming 21st century is, passing the era of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, the Asia-Pacific times. In line with the changing environment, with opening up the era of local autonomy, each local government realizes that cooperating with foreign local government and its own survival policy might be a good strategy in terms of ‘standing-alone policy’.
To support these efforts, Chejudo sets up the new plan as a breakthrough to overcome the waves of ‘internationallization’, ‘globalization’. At this point, it is showing that Chejudo faces up to the current trend and harmonizes the central government’s intentions. Thus, this article deals with the Chejudo’s international cooperation, particularly the focus of the strategy of its internationalization, taking advantage of the merits of its geographical-marine location.
In conclusion, in order to achieve this objectives, Chejudo should be built up the infrastructure such as the public management assistance, technical, financial, personnel instructions, program management assistance.
