Delegation from Shanghai Administration Institute (SAI), a partner organization of KRILA, visited KRILA on June 8th 2009, to discuss the plan of a joint research project in preparation of the upcoming 2010 Shanghai Expo.

Headed by SAI Vice President Ms. Wang Lili, the Chinese delegation met KRILA President Dr. Jung-Suk Yoo and exchanged ideas on how to give shape to the cooperation agreement signed between the two institutes in September 2008.  In particular, the two parties agreed that a joint research to improve the public sector responsiveness in the two countries in preparation of the 2010 Shanghai Expon and 2012 Yeosu Expo would be a good case of mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the seminar followed the talk, the delegation heard two presentations on Korean local autonomy and public servant training, by Dr. Byung-Kuk Kim, head of Local administration research and Dr. Seok-Joo Cho, chief of Center for urban management at KRILA, respectively.

SAI delegation also had other study visits during their stay in Korea, including the Seoul Data Center and Sang-Ahm Digital Media City in Seoul and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in Jeju.
