This study aims to reveal the typical conflict resolution patterns when a country faces policy problems in selecting nuclear waste dump sites. The cases for review are taken from Korea, Japan, France, and Sweden. Then the patterns to accommodate nuclear waste dump sites are examined in a local governance perspective. The findings are that Korea's local governance is affected by central government-local government relationships and local government-residents cooperation relationship, rather than the dump site operation style, information revelation, and financial supports.
