This study analyzes the psychological effects on the villagers after large-scale government projects were repeatedly withdrawn. The construction of a Southeastern New Airport was a national project to build an airport in a small village. This project was a unique case where it was attempted twice but both were withdrawn. However, despite the project to make the town disappear, the villagers were excluded. Therefore, this study analyzes the psychological impacts of villagers when the project is repeatedly promoted and withdrawn. For this purpose, based on the theory of place attachment(place identity, place dependence, place rootedness), the residents of Gadukdo village were interviewed and non-participant observation was conducted. As a result, three aspects of psychological effects were derived. These include the weakening of place attachment, the hope of continuing the attachment of places through alternative places, and the strengthening of the sense of compliance with the central government that caused the loss of place.
