Saemaul Undong was development and policy that led the nationaldevelopment by having the village people voluntarily participate in and thegovernment actively support it. This study examines the semantic networkanalysis on Yeungnam University’s Saemaul education and research projects, asthe University has taken the initiative to meet the increasing domestic andinternational demands for such development in the current era.The data for this study were collected from January 1, 2008 to December 31,2015. The source of data is Web portal Naver, from its news, blog, cafe (onlineforums), and Knowledge iN (knowledge market) services. The collected keywordsare ‘Yeungnam University Saemaul Undong’ and ‘Yeoungnam Saemaul’.In conclusion, Yeungnam University’s Saemaul education and researchprojects are actively expanding under the supervision of the Park Chung HeeSchool of Policy and Saemaul, the Institute for International DevelopmentCooperation and the Department of Saemaul Studies and InternationalDevelopment is rapidly increasing in domestic popularity and awareness.Through balance of theory and practice, on a domestic level, YeungnamUniversity’s Saemaul education and research projects will be able to mitigatethe negative image of the development, and on a global level, it will contributeto systematically promote outreach activities for poverty eradication andeconomic growth of developing countries.
