Two Faceted Perceptions of Community Wellbeing In Juxtaposition With Objective Conditionsdownload
In this paper we a) analyze two-faceted perceptions of community wellbeing, specifically personal satisfaction and local evaluation, and then b) connect this analysisto the objective conditions of local communities. This exploration illuminates therelationship between subjective community wellbeing and objective communitywellbeing Data are collected from about 1000 residents across six municipalities inSeoul: Kangnam, Guro, Mapo, Dongdaemun, Junggu-Jongro. The survey resultsshowed that in Guro and Dongdaemun, personal satisfaction was higher than localevaluation, while the opposite tendency was observed in Kangnam, where localevaluation was higher than personal satisfaction. Other findings include a substantialdiscrepancy between subjective community wellbeing and objective communitywellbeing. Further study is needed to elucidate the relationship between theseconceptions and contribute to a more sophisticated theorization of community wellbeingresearch.
