Confining research’s spatial range to Gyengsangnamdo Province, this studytries to measure the value of local government officer’s training program. As ananalytical method, the contingent valuation method(CVM) is used, which isactively used in evaluation of nonmarket goods such as public goods andenvironmental goods. Data is collected by one-to-one personal interviews andthe logit model and maximum likelihood estimation method are used for theestimation.For the improvement of the local government officer’s training program, eachhousehold’s willingness to pay (WTP) per year on average is estimated to be2,952 won in case of using the whole data and to be 1,792 won in case ofusing data of only the citizens excluding local government officers. Theseestimation results may be interpreted as the former reflects the sum of usevalue and nonuse value while the latter reflects only the nonuse value.
