A Study on the Policy of Walking Environment Improvements for Pedestrian Safetydownload
The purpose of this study is to analyze on integrated walking environment which is themost basic living infrastructure and daily life of the pedestrian environment of the place, inresponse to a serious safety problem of pedestrian accidents by region, based on empiricalanalysis of central and local governments policies and laws.First, in chapter 2, ‘Walking Right’ and ‘Walking Environments’ are defined by the theorybehind this and previous studies. local governments has improved pedestrian environmentsbut the physical landscape design guidelines focused on the provision and installationstrategies was off, most of the research has overlooked one variety of local characteristicshad been concentrated around the cities.Chapter 3 describes the local situation and the characteristics of pedestrian traffic accidentanalysis, the level of pedestrian environment through the local type of empirical analysis. The types of pedestrian accident area needed to characterize in order to promote comprehensivepedestrian environment policy with consideration of regional characteristics of the space-safepedestrian environment tailored life policy. Local variables and local characteristics of eachtype of accident characteristics of the Pearson correlation coefficient analysis and theKruskal-Wallis non-parametric statistical method was used for validation.Central governments and local governments to take a look at the overall support systemChapter 4 System and policies throughout the gait analysis. The laws relating to pedestriansafety are basically still a particular emphasis vehicle trend was shown. In addition to thepedestrian environment around the way the car is handling as a way to walk on the pedestrianarea of 'space' concept, without looking to identify a hierarchy of roads, as classified byattempting to improve the physical environment is still reported was being promoted.Chapter 5 promotes policy direction and implementation of the proposed strategy afterlooking into the need of policy of walking environment improvements. First, the promotionof walking environment improvements, overall pedestrian environment policy implementation, second, discriminatory environmental policies promoting walking, third, participatoryenvironmental policy promoting walking, fourth, cooperative promotion of pedestrianenvironment policy, strategy, implementation strategies of the 4E +1 proposed. 4E +1 strategyin the pedestrian environment improvement strategies for engineering (Engineering) andrelated laws and systems strengthening strategy (Enforcement), the driver and other users, including pedestrians on teaching strategies for inducing behavior change (Education) andstrategies to encourage and promote the use of walking (Encouragement), and, above all,a community-based strategy consists of voluntary participation. Then separated by the centralgovernments and the local governments system of each subject was suggested improvements.Central governments organizations, including maintenance and related laws, and strategies topromote local custom type, and a pilot project to improve the pedestrian environment improvesand expands the district strategy, local governments and organizations to repair the pedestrianordinance, residents participation survey conducted a pedestrian-friendly, traffic-safe measureto enable local communities to promote the proposed improvements.
